Write to your MP to restore the £20 increase and extend it to legacy benefits

Last year Universal Credit was increased by £20 a week but people on legacy benefits, including Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support and Jobseeker’s Allowance were left out. Now this increase to Universal Credit has been cut, we need MPs to understand how big of an impact this is having on people's ability to get by, so we are asking for the £20 increase to be restored and extended to legacy benefits also.

MPs respond best to messages that are personal. We're going to ask you a couple of questions to help craft an email for you. We will not store any information you share.

Please remember to write your answers in full sentences so they make sense in the final email to your MP.

Hints: Who else is in your household? Do you have children? Are you employed? Are you disabled?

Example: My name is Julie and I am a single mother of two children, aged 4 and 2

Options: Employment Support Allowance, Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income Support, Housing Benefits.

Hints: Do you have enough money to last the month? Are you able to afford the essentials such as food, bills, transport and hygiene products? Do your finances cause you any stress or worry?

Finally we need to know your postcode so we can identify your MP.
